Harvey P. Hallett died at his home at Deer's Mill, about midnight on Thursday night, after months of terrible suffering. Seven years ago a white patch appeared in his left cheek which grew gradually until about a year ago. After an operation to remove it by tying a silk cord around the affected portion, it spread rapidly until it involved both sides of the face and upper jaw until the teeth dropped out. Mr. Hallett bore his sufferings with patience, but recognizing that death was inevitable, made all his business arrangements with that in view. While it is not for man to say when death shall come, the news brought a feeling of relief to his many sympathizing friends. Funeral services at Union on Saturday afternoon were conducted by Rev. W.C. Caldwell. Interment at Union after Masonic ceremonies at the grave. The following Biography was read:

"Harvey P. Hallett, son of Jackson and Mary Hallett, was born May 21, 1866 near his present home four miles north of Waveland; there remaining with his parents, and always ready to do anything his mother asked.
